From Childhood Migraines to Creating a Community of Wellness

A Drop of water

Suffering from severe migraines as a child and having tried everything to alleviate them, Dr Harold "Skip" George's mom at the suggestion of a friend, turned to Chiropractic. Having had tremendous results Skip made the decision to become a chiropractor, to enable everyone the opportunity to experience the benefits of chiropractic just as he did. Dr George graduated magna cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Humble Beginnings

As a young doctor with a family he took the plunge and opened his practice in his East Petersburg home. As his practice grew, he built and moved the practice to its current location on the Manheim Pike. As word continued to spread how chiropractic was helping his patients regain their health and achieve wellness naturally, Dr George took on several associate doctors. One of them being Dr Beth Risser, a graduate of Sherman College of Chiropractic, joined the team in January of 1992. As the practice continued to grow so did Dr Risser's knowledge and passion of chiropractic and it's attributes to health and wellness.

The Baton is Handed Off

After 47 years of changing lives through the power of the chiropractic adjustment, Dr George decided it was time to retire. In October of 2015 Dr Risser rose to the challenge of filling the shoes of a legend within the chiropractic community and purchased the practice. As her role changed with the addition of being the director of the office, what never changed is her purpose, commitment and care for her patients. Dr Risser's passion to help others goes beyond the walls of the office. She is a board member of the Chiropractic Fellowship of PA, Sherman College Regent, as well as Heifer International. She also volunteers her time at The Wittel Farm where she enjoys one of her favorite past times, gardening.

The Power That Made The Body, Heals The Body

Is a quote from the developer of chiropractic, BJ Palmer. Although the Baton has been handed over, it remains the foundation that George's Chiropractic Health Center stands on. We know the central nerve system is what controls all systems of the body. We also know that when a vertebrae is out of alignment and putting pressure on the nerve system (subluxation) the body is not able to function properly. Over time these subluxations left uncorrected causes body breakdown which can lead to many different complications within the body. Dr Risser's passion is to help everyone understand the importance of regular chiropractic care and healthy lifestyle choices. She invites you to schedule a no charge ~ no obligation initial consultation and exam.
